Umbrella Academy Season 2 Posters Ask WHEN Are The Hargreeves Siblings

Netflix has released the first posters for season 2 of The Umbrella Academy asking when are the Hargreeves siblings after the season 1 finale.

Posters for season 2 of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy ask WHEN in time the Hargreeves siblings are. Based on the comic book series created by Gerard Way in 2007, Netflix released their adaptation of Umbrella Academy in 2017. The 10-episode first season was a hit for the streaming service, as subscribers began to meet the Hargreeves siblings. Each of them was born on the same day in 1989 with superpowers as part of an unexplainable phenomenon and adopted by the wealthy Reginald Hargreeves.

The first season primarily followed the return of Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) to the present day and his attempt to prevent the apocalypse from happening. However, they are not able to stop the apocalyptic event from happening as Vanya aka Number Seven’s (Ellen Page) powers accidentally blow up the moon, sending chunks of it hurtling towards Earth. Realizing that they have failed, Five uses his time travel powers to take all members of the Umbrella Academy to a different point in time. And even though season 2 of The Umbrella Academy has been confirmed, the whereabouts of the Hargreeves children remain unanswered.

The Flash Season 6 Set Photos Confirm [SPOILER]’s Return After Crisis

Set photos from filming of The Flash season 6 surface, revealing the return of two notable characters, their first appearance post-Crisis.

Set photos from filming of The Flash season 6 confirm the return of Godspeed and potentially Pied Piper. Currently, Barry Allen and friends are dealing with life post-Crisis on Infinite Earths. Although there is no longer the fate of the multiverse in the balance, trouble is lurking in Central City. The team is dealing with a terrorist group called Black Hole.

The Flash has featured a lot of villains from the comics. The classic Rogues’ gallery, such as Captain Cold and Mirror Master, have appeared. Eobard Thawne and Hunter Zolomon, Barry’s two greatest enemies, have been featured as major antagonists. The show has also utilized recent comic book creations. The first half of season 6 starred Bloodwork as the main antagonist, a character who is only a few years old. Perhaps more notable was the season 5 debut of Godspeed, a recent powerful speedster from the comics. Godspeed battled Nora West-Allen in his episode. Surprisingly, Godspeed’s portrayal was unimpressive, considering how notable he is in the comics. The character returned at the start of season 6, though this one was a fake. The Godspeed imposter mystery was established, but nothing has been mentioned since then. Viewers have been wondering if the show would focus on the mystery after Crisis on Infinite Earths. It appears fans have their answer.

Marvel’s Loki TV Show May Set Up Kang the Conqueror In MCU

Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ Loki show, starring Tom Hiddleston, may set up Kang the Conqueror as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next big bad.

Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ Loki show may set up Kang the Conqueror as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s next big bad. The show, starring Tom Hiddleston, will see the God of Mischief embody his nefarious persona from 2012’s The Avengers. A more reformed version of the character was killed by Thanos at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. However, Avengers: Endgame revived 2012 Loki when he escaped with the Tesseract during the Avengers’ “time heist.”

That version of Loki will lead his own Disney + show, using the Tesseract (the Space Stone) to meddle with history. After fans were given their first tease of Loki via an image of the character in the 1970s, an MCU Disney+ Super Bowl commercial briefly showed Loki sporting a Time Variance Authority jumpsuit. In the comics, the TVA is an organization that monitors the multiverse and subsequent timelines, eliminating those deemed too dangerous. Recently, Owen Wilson was added to the cast of Loki and is rumored to be playing Justice Peace, the head of TVA. Their inclusion in Loki implies the mini-series will have connections to other Disney+ shows and the larger MCU.

No Time to Die May Break James Bond Franchise Opening Weekend Record

Early No Time to Die box office projections suggest the latest James Bond film could have the franchise’s biggest opening weekend. Early No Time to Die box office projections suggest the film could break the all-time James Bond franchise opening weekend record. The property has long been one of the most viable and popular in the industry, reaching new commercial heights during Daniel Craig’s tenure as 007. Unadjusted for inflation, his four installments released to date – Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, and Spectre – rank as the four highest-grossing Bond films ever, with Skyfall the lone entry to hit the $1 billion mark. While the films themselves have been up and down in terms of quality, they’ve been a massive draw since Craig took the role in 2006. The actor is returning for a fifth and final go-around as James Bond in April’s No Time to Die, which has a marketing campaign well underway. In addition to the full theatrical trailer setting the stage for 007’s next mission, there was also a rather expensive Super Bowl TV spot and the recent release of Billie Eilish’s opening theme song. As buzz continues to mount, it looks like No Time to Die is going to have one of the biggest debuts in the franchise’s storied history.

Sony’s Morbius Movie & Venom 2 Marketing Emphasizes MCU Connection

Sony is using the MCU connection to its Spider-Man movie spinoffs to promote its upcoming releases Venom 2 and the Morbius the Living Vampire film.

Sony’s marketing for its Morbius movie and Venom 2 emphasizes their connection to the MCU. When the first Venom hit theaters in 2018, its connection to the MCU was tenuous at best. Producer Amy Pascal infamously referred to the movie and other developing Spider-Man villain spinoffs as “adjuncts” to the franchise in 2017, but later walked those comments down. However, that’s changing in the wake of Marvel Studios and Sony striking a new deal to share the rights to Tom Holland’s iteration of Peter Parker and the greater universe of Spider-Man characters.

The trailer for Morbius confirmed the upcoming spinoff will take place in the MCU, and even teased a scene where scientist-turned vampire Michael Morbius comes face to face with Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes (aka. The Vulture) from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Leaked set photos has since revealed the ongoing Morbius reshoots are further beefing up the film’s MCU ties by incorporating additional references to Spider-Man having gone on the run after he was framed for Mysterio’s death in last year’s Far From Home. Even Sony’s viral marketing is getting in on the fun now.

Mortal Kombat Reboot Producer Promises To Do Justice To Sub Zero & Scorpion

Mortal Kombat producer Todd Garner promises that the reboot will give Sub Zero and Scorpion justice after they were underutilized in the ’90s.

The producer of the upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot promises to do justice to Sub Zero and Scorpion. The Mortal Kombat series started off as an arcade game in 1992 and quickly grew to become one of the most well-known video game franchises around. Now, Warner Bros. is rebooting the franchise.

The Mortal Kombat reboot has been stuck in development hell for quite some time, but fans started to see more progress once James Wan signed on as a producer. From the very beginning, Wan assured fans that they weren’t going to rush the movie in order to make sure it was done right. Fans were thrilled to hear last year that the Mortal Kombat movie would not only be R-rated but also include game accurate fatalitiesMortal Kombat wrapped filming in December, and now the producer of the film is once again reassuring fans.

Laura Dern Is Celebrated By The Gay Men’s Chorus For The Icon She Is

Marriage Story actress Laura Dern gets celebrated in this hilarious performance from the Gay Men’s Chorus at the Film Independent Spirit Awards.

Actress Laura Dern was recently the spotlight of a performance from the Gay Men’s Chorus at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. During the yearly awards ceremony, statues went home with many of the films “snubbed” by the Academy, including The Farewell and Uncut Gems.

Founded in 1984, the Film Independent Spirit Awards celebrates independent filmmakers or those who’ve made their films on a budget of less than $20 million. In the case of this year’s awards show, the nominees included films like the aforementioned Uncut Gems, The Farewell, as well Honey Boy, Booksmart, and Midsommar among others. The Farewell took home the night’s top prize of Best Feature and Best Supporting Female for Zhao Shuzhen. Uncut Gems, however, was the big winner of the night with three awards: Best Male Lead for Adam Sandler, Best Director Ronald Bronstein and Benny Safdie, and Best Editing. Oscar-favorites were still present, though, and in some cases even won. Marriage Story, for instance, nabbed a Best Screenplay win for Noah Baumbach, but it was a serenade of one of the film’s stars, Laura Dern, that stole the show.

James Gunn & Margot Robbie Love the Idea of Harley Quinn & Groot Teaming Up

In a response to a fan question on Twitter, director James Gunn shares that Margot Robbie and he love the idea of Harley Quinn and Groot teaming up. Director James Gunn shares that Margot Robbie and he love the idea of Harley Quinn and Groot teaming up. Gunn and Robbie will be teaming up themselves for the Guardians of the Galaxy director’s new incarnation of The Suicide Squad. Although the 2016 version of the DC ensemble film brought in $747 million at the box office, it was panned by critics and audiences. In Gunn’s new and reportedly more comedic version of Suicide Squad, new actors will be featured, such as John Cena, Taika Waititi, Idris Elba, Alice Braga, and Nathan Fillion. However, one of the few positives from David Ayer’s 2016 version, Robbie’s Harley Quinn, will return and likely have a strong presence in the film. Robbie most recently returned as the Harley Quinn character for Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), which she opted to make instead of Gotham City Sirens,a film that would have seen Harley join popular DC characters like Poison Ivy and Catwoman. Unlike Suicide SquadBirds of Prey has received a lot of praise as it currently sits with a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 80 percent and an audience score of 83 percent. The appreciation it is receiving will likely mean we’ll see another Harley Quinn story down the line, but according to Gunn, the director in charge of Robbie’s next screen outing as Harley, Robbie and he have discussed quite a unique idea for Harley Quinn.

Disney Apologizes For Fining Elementary School Over Lion King Showing

Disney CEO Bob Iger apologizes to Emerson Elementary PTA for issuing a licensing fine over their use of 2019’s The Lion King in a fundraiser. Disney apologized for fining an elementary school over their screening of the 2019 computer animated remake of The Lion King. Last year’s remake of the traditionally animated 1994 classic made some significant plot alterations to the original, and has generated a lot of strange or unfortunate news since its release in July. On the stranger side of things, Disney did not submit it as an animated film for either the Golden Globes or the Oscars, possibly because Disney would prefer to classify it as a live-action film much like their 2016 remake of The Jungle Book. However, The Lion King contains no live-action human actors and was put into the animation category without Disney’s prompting.
